PSHE Learning at Golden Hill
At Golden Hill, classes are usually mixed age groups, sometimes crossing Key Stages. Classes have a wide variety of ability and children have already completed various topics at their mainstream schools. Children often come into school disengaged from their learning and start at different points during the school year depending on when they have been excluded or referred. Children may arrive or leave mid-way through a topic.
Teachers plan from the most relevant age group for their class. This can change during the year. Please see the most recent newsletter to find out what each class is learning. To accommodate differing abilities of children, work is differentiated using a variety of resources.
PSHE is taught every week, or as a block, with a different topic each term. Please see Curriculum Map below for more information. We are following the PSHE Association Thematic Approach.
Recently, a group of Boys from Golden Hill were invited to County Hall to take part in an event to celebrate International Men's Day 2025. We were paired with an inspirational male, Dan Worsley, who is an author. Dan came to Golden Hill to tell us all about his career and tell us some of his stories. The boys interviewed Dan and then made a presentation to share at the main event. All of the boys enjoyed exploring the stalls from other schools and learning about different inspirational men and their careers. We are very proud of the boys from our school and thank you Dan and everyone who organised this for us!
